While chatting with my sister recently, she and I had a heart-to-heart conversation about family. Family is a complex topic for me. In the middle of confiding in her my “issues” with certain extended family members, I recalled a cause I vowed to undertake about forgiveness. This is a measurement of how far I’ve come. Passing Quietly in the Night

I heard the news this weekend that a dear soul passed away.  I hadn’t spoken with her in several years (over a decade), but she was the sweetest woman I had ever met thus far and very motherly to me when I lived abroad.

I prayed a couple of rosaries in her honor and a Divine Mercy chaplet.  According to her daughter, she was very faithful and she did not suffer.  There is such an idea of mercy in that thought.

Adjusting and Mother’s Day

I’ve been reflecting more.  On Friday, I found myself in quite a foul mood and I couldn’t put my finger on why.  I thought it might be Mother’s Day that was getting at me a bit (sometimes it happens), but that’s not really it.  I think it has more to do with adjusting.
