All That I Have Written Is Straw. . .

Meanderings of a Catholic Devout

The Eternal Week

I think I have come to terms with my fantasy world.  Just one week without the Eucharist and I have cleared my head!

I think recent transgressions were necessary.  I needed to hear some words, words I hadn’t heard in a long time, just to satiate something within.  And now that I’ve heard them, they remain with me.  I don’t know about the necessity of hearing them again, all that matters is that they were said and said with sincerity at the time–unsolicited and appreciated.  Silly me.  How selfish to desire these words again.  Should I need to hear them once more, I’m confident that God will put them in my life again.  I trust in His guidance.

So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire!

And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell.

For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and creatures of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race.

But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison.

–James 3:5-8

Tomorrow, I will ponder these things. . . confess what I am genuinely sorry about and purge my soul of having offended Him hopefully.  I can’t wait to receive Him on Sunday!  If God is extemporal, then this week is very much eternal for me.

Tomorrow, no doubt, will be hard for my humanity.  My flesh desires to live in an illusioned world, but I find myself utterly unhappy without God.  So my flesh will suffer bittersweetly.  What will be, will be.
